INTRODUCTION OF RESERVE SUB INSPECTOR (KSRP) POST

Police Sub-Inspector, a police range introduced by the British in India and other parts of South Asia. Reserve sub-inspectors (KSRP) are often reserved at the district police office at the district headquarters and deployed whenever and wherever. RESERVE SUB INSPECTOR (KSRP) RECRUITMENT STAGES

There are two stages in the recruitment of these posts.
  1. Physical examination (Physical Standard and endurance Test)
  2. Written examination
To be selected as Reserve Sub Inspector (KSRP) is mandatory at all these stages. Candidates are eligible for written examination only if they pass the physical examination.

PHYSICAL STANDARD TEST

To be eligible for the endurance test, applicants must pass all of the following physical standard tests, and all of the following physical standard tests are mandatory: Those who reject / fail to take these examinations will be disqualified. After completing each physical standard test, the candidate must sign the prescribed form and check the details. If missed, such candidate will be disqualified. No marks are given for the physical standard test. These are limited to merit.

WRITTEN EXAMINATION

The Police Reserve Sub Inspector (KSRP) written exam consists of two graduate level papers;

Paper 1:

This paper consists of two parts. The first part is writing an essay in Kannada or English. This is 30 marks and the second part is to translate the sentences from Kannada to English and from English to Kannada. The exam period is one hour, with a total of 50 marks. (30 marks for the essay and 20 marks for translation) There are no minimum marks.

Paper 2:

This question paper contains general study questions (i) general knowledge (a) science (b) geography (c) modern Indian history, national independence movement (d) fundamental rights and directive principles of Indian constitution. (ii) General mental ability includes (a) computational skills (b) spatial recognition skills (c) comprehension (d) decision-making (e) decision-making ability (f) moral education. It is a multiple choices objective model with one hundred and fifty points and a half hour test. For each wrong answer, 25% (0.375) of the correct answer of the same question will be subtracted. Candidates must attend both papers compulsory. A candidate who scores less than 30% of the total written test will not be eligible to be included in the qualifying list.

2. Education qualifications

  • The deadline for applying for a degree or equivalent degree at a recognized university recognized by UGC is as on 18/01/2022. (Ex-Servicemen Candidates if they have Qualification Certificate dated: 18/01/2022 such candidates will be considered.)
Qualifications and Experience for In-service Candidates:
  • Should have completed a minimum of 5 years of service in the Police Department (as of the last date of application, i.e., 18/01/2022) as an Assistant Police Sub-Inspector / Head Constable / Police Constable with a Degree or Equivalent Degree at a recognized University.

TRAINING, PERMANENT PERIOD AND SALARY RANGE

1. Training

Appointed candidates must undergo basic police training as specified by the DG and IGP from time to time. If the applicants do not complete the training successfully, the service candidates will be returned to their ranks and rank and the direct recruited candidates will be released from the service. (The examiner must pass the tests scheduled in the training. Candidates who have not passed the examination will be given another chance. Even those who fail to do so will be dismissed from service.)

2. Probationary period

Two years and six months including basic training and practical training.

3. Salary Range

₹ 37900 – ₹ 70850
